The brushing of Etna’s Lava Stone, extracted from our Belpasso quarry, consists of rendering the surface slightly motioned, but perfectly flat, semi-bright opaque, non-reflective.
This operation is also obtained through the Basalt’s “sealing” and a specific application of grain abrasive brushes that cause it to progressively become thinner, so as to obtain the final result that we define as “glazed”. Fratelli Lizzio employs a series of brushes that beautify and enhance the Basalt surface, and create an antiqued and particular effect that is appreciated by engineers and designers in Northern Europe.
