The sawed lava stone is obtained with the action of diamond discs that cut the blocks, or with the joined action of multi-wire machines; it is hence semi-refined.

The defects that are due to irregularities are reduced and the surface becomes in this way anti-slippery. The characteristics of this type of surfaces are low roughness, fine flatness and regular final aspect of the material.
